Intro to Sketch
Level 5 Improv

About Jeff

Born and raised in Tulsa, Jeff Brown began performing improv and sketch comedy in 2004 as a blatant defense mechanism. Despite the advice of doctors, friends, and circuit court judges, he has continued to train at World’s Greatest Improv School, Pack Theater, and Jackalope Theater. He is still learning to love the bomb.

As an instructor, Jeff emphasizes honest emotional reactions, embracing the wild gifts of your partners, and not trying to be funny. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Outside of performing, he enjoys making things, trivia, meeting your pets, and receiving constructive criticism.

Jeff came in second on Jeopardy in 2017. He thinks about it most days.

Friday Night Improv

About Becca

Rebecca’s love for the stage began on Saturday nights watching her parents perform in their country band, High Strung. Growing up in a small Midwestern town, she jumped into every play and acting class she could find before moving to Austin, TX to explore film both on and off camera.

An acting teacher once suggested she try improv — and that’s when she found her true passion: stepping on stage with no script and a group ready to play. She quickly fell for the unpredictable joy of spontaneous collaboration.

Rebecca discovered that the Meisner Technique “living truthfully under imaginary circumstances” beautifully complements improv. She’s trained at The Paramount Theatre, ColdTowne Theater, The Second City, The Annoyance Theatre, In the Moment Acting Studio, Carol Hickey Acting Studio, and BriteLites Studio.

Outside of improv, Rebecca is a mental health therapist who combines art and healing. In Austin, she created Healing Through the Arts, bringing improv to a correctional center, where she saw how play fosters trust, confidence, and emotional growth.

Rebecca loves helping others find freedom through presence, connection, and those magical, unplanned moments on stage.

Level 2 Improv

About Ryan

Ryan started with writing and acting in sketch and short films before joining UNT Improv at the University of North Texas, where he graduated with a degree in Media Arts. He performed in various shows at the university, forming troupes and serving as an officer for the organization before moving back to Tulsa in 2021. There, he joined Jackalope Theater's first class back from the COVID-19 pandemic and has created and performed in many of the theater's flagship shows.

He currently teaches Level 2, where students focus on commitment to a scene, dynamics within a scene, and building fun, unique characters.

Ryan can be seen performing regularly at Jackalope in Tulsa Night Live, Offbeat Musical Improv, Snuggle Bunch, Bryan Hassle, and others. He also works with his troupe PUD to create  fun and interactive shows for the Tulsa comedy community.

"Connecting with people is my favorite part of improv. When I create a character, it's essentially an attempt at empathizing with other people. To embody someone other than myself, I have to understand who they are and how they will get along with their environment and the people around them. I've learned that everyone is interesting."

Musical Improv

About Ben

A lifelong comedy fan and Tulsa native, Ben Harper got his start in improv at Jackalope in February 2022, where he quickly became a regular performer. Growing up on "Whose Line is it Anyway", the ad-lib happy comedy films of the early 200s, and musical comedy groups like Tenacious D and Flight of the Conchords Ben quickly started incorporating musical improv games into the rotation at Jackalope before forming Offbeat Musical Improv and the Jackalope's musical improv program. Ben performs regularly in Jackalope main stage shows and with troupes PUD, Whistlebridge, and Bryan Hassle. Outside of improv Ben likes playing music and getting friends together for gaming of all kinds!

About Jason

Jason Watts first got into theater in his second grade play, where he got to be a worm and wiggle around the stage.  He’s been doing something similar for the last almost 50 years.  With a BFA in theatrical direction from Loyola Marymount University, he initially found some success in Hollywood production work; yet, frustrated creatively, he made the decision to move back to Tulsa and focus on acting… for the next two decades.

Some highlights include: Picasso in “Picasso At Lapin Agile”/Heller Theatre, Heisenberg in “Copenhagen”/Theatre Tulsa, and every crazy production at the Nightingale Theatre, where Jason also wrote, directed, puppeted, and lurched.  It was there where he was introduced to improv.

In 2002, Jason began playing in troupes at the Nightingale and Heller Theatre. He has been actively performing, directing, producing, and teaching improv comedy in a number of troupes and theaters around Oklahoma since then.  Some highlights include: “Laughing Matter”, “Cueless”, “See Dick Run”, “Old Crow Players”, “SuperOvum” along with teaching improv in Tulsa Public Schools for 10 years through AHHA and the Harwelden Institute.  Since 2008, he still performs with “Comfort Creatures” presently. He has enjoyed learning from many great teachers, representing some renound theaters including: Second City, iO, Upright Citizen’s Brigade, The Annoyance, and others.

Jason enjoys the opportunity to share in the joy of playing with others that dare to take a leap into the unknown.
